If you have not done so already, it is time to make notes about these things in your garden journal: What species of birds are here? Which birds are gone? What plants are flowering? What plants have just started to sprout? How do the trees look? (Are they flowering, just starting to leaf out, or are their buds large but not yet open?) When did the peepers start to sing? You are recording base line information. Over time, you may be able to see relationships between the best times to plant annuals and the signs of spring that you have recorded for your place.
